Wow I never knew half this stuff very informative read, and interesting to read about the view of the Germans and such in the war omg what they went through, yah you hear about it in history lessons but your writing really put you there I can't find the right word very moving .

I liked Heritage because it is educational as well as a great storyline. before reading Heritage I only had a vague idea of the Snowy River Scheme and I found it so interesting. I have read a few of Judy Dunn's books and the stories are similar in that they follow the history of this country and it's growth. I read Under the Southern Cross and found this book a really great read too. thank you for letting me post my review. Jan Hodges.
I love all of Judy Nunn's novels. This is almost as good as my favourite. Territory. Too bad she has not broken into the North American market. Expensive to have them shipped from Australia.
What a wonderful storyteller Judy Nunn has become. I enjoyed every page of this book and it gives a real insight into the Australian people and our very welcome immigrants.
A brilliant idea to use the Snowy Scheme for the setting of this 'hard to put down book'. Is this a first I wonder? Being a 'Snowy kid' myself I found it compelling reading. The author has captured the true essence of what it was like to live in Cooma and in the camps in those days intertwined with an imaginative yet believable story line. She did her homework well. It's a great read and highly recommendable. I loved it!
Yet again another great example of this wonderful author's work. Judy describes life in the Snowy Mountains like no other person. From the dark days of WWII to the new life found by immigrants working in the Snowy Mountain Scheme, Judy tells a wonderful story of new life,new hope and fresh beginnings. I cannot recommend her more highly and look forward to many more happy hours spent reading her stories.
I have read many Judy Nunn books, this one without a doubt is the best. A well thought out story, it keeps you on your toes at every page. The characters very real and a lot of surprises through out the book. An extremely good ending. I would thoroughly recommend this book. I purchased it at .

Loved the characterisation (generally), and while I felt emotionally satisfied with the tying up of loose ends - it does stretch the bounds of incredulity a bit. The most glaring disconnect was the chunk based in Israel ... the characters became very cardboard cutout and the whole 'backstory' was unnecessary and the writing much "clunkier" than elsewhere. Nice interweaving of the characters and the whole 'huge change to the environment and life as we know it' - together with the personal changes of individuals
