I bought all the four books in this series at the same time but I can't seem to leave a separate book review for the first two books in the series. Amazon is linking my review for Meant to Be (An Anchor Island Book 1) and Up to the Challenge (An Anchor Island Book 2) together. For that reason, I'll include both reviews here.My review for book 1, Meant to Be;
I wanted to like Beth and Joe and I did a little but for the most part, I had a hard time bonding with them when they were both so judgemental of Lucas. For the record, Beth and Joe kissed when she was in a relationship with Lucas, that is still cheating. I didn't like how Beth and Joe kept saying nothing happened because that wasn't true. What I did like about this book is all the secondary characters. They made me tolerate Beth and Joe. I hope the secondary characters in this book get their own books. Meant to Be was an OK read to me. 3 Stars.
My review for book 2, Up to the Challenge;
This is Sid and Lucas' story. They both caught my attention in the first book so I couldn't wait to read their book. Up to the Challenge was well written and kept me entertained from the first page to the last. When I got to end, I was so sad because I was not ready to let Sid and Lucas go. Sid and Lucas' love for each other was everything and I absolutely adored them. 5 Perfect Stars!

I picked this one up when it was a deal of the day, and I'm so glad I did; I thoroughly enjoyed it and I have already pre-ordered the next edition Up to the Challenge. This one has all the elements of a fun romantic tale an island setting with a quaint small town vibe, interesting supporting characters that add their own charm to the community, a loving blended family with 2 handsome sons that are complete opposites of each other, and an adorable heroine who is engaged to one brother and attracted to the other, OH MY! Before she even arrived on the island, the fun and magic begins.
I enjoyed how the author paid attention to details without making the story feel bogged down; I was quickly drawn in and became vested in the characters and the story. There was great chemistry between Beth and Joe, without being disrespectful of Elizabeth and Lucas' relationship; but the writing was one the wall as to who was going to end up with who, lol! So glad that I gave this story a try, and I now have a new author whose work I will gladly follow.
There wasn't anything that I disliked in this book. In fact, I went on to read the remaining 3 novels ( I have yet to finish the 4th one but it won't take me long to complete it) because I became so enthralled with the story. I couldn't wait to find out how each character evolved throughout the series. This was a very well written and engaging story. The author smoothly transitions the characters from one book to the next. I highly recommend the series.
For pure romance, I recommend Terri Osburn’s Meant To Be, the first in in her Anchor Island series. When Beth Chandler, on her way to visit her fiance’s family on Anchor Island, has a panic attack on the ferry (she has a serious water phobia), she has no idea the man who comes to her rescue is her fiance’s brother. Or that first impressions will lead to deep attraction. But how can a self-respecting girl like Beth switch brothers? Even worse, on a small island where everyone knows each other? The story is full of wonderful characters and a charming setting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next Anchor Island romance, Up to the Challenge, is waiting on the ever-expanding invisible To Be Read shelf on my , and I just downloaded the third, Home To Stay.
I love that Terri Osburn held my attention, where I couldn't put this book down . I loved the feel of the Island and it's people. I wasn't to sure about Beth being Joe's brothers fiance, but boundaries were kept and a more understanding Lucas showed a maturity and compassion which he should of used for his priorities to start with but then this story wouldn't have been born. I enjoyed this book and was glad the two had the Respect that they had. I loved Dozer. A very Enjoyable read.
I liked this story. Beth overcame a few of her fears and was able to make friends in the process. She begins to realize she needs to please herself and she won't make everyone happy. Too bad it takes her future brother-in-law to help her. She realizes loving someone (or at least thinking you do) and being in love are two different things. She helps Joe find his happiness and although Lucas' heart may be broken he handles things a little better than expected. I was upset Lucas left his fiancée with his family on an island for 2 weeks and then seems to believe his brother's ex. True love conquers conquers all in the end.
I really enjoyed this book. I listened to it on audible when in the car, and read it whenever I had the opportunity. There's just the right amount of romantic tension if you like light romances. The characters will feel like friends, and you'll look forward to hanging out with them more in the next book of the series. You'll root for Beth and Joe to end up together, and fall for Sid, a mechanic with a mouth like a sailor who hides her feminine side and has a crush on Joe's brother. She's a lot of fun and set up well for a romance in book two. By the way, there's a preview for book two at the end, and you are going to want it.
I ordered the Anchor Island series. Book 1 was great. Book 2 had more detailed sex/bedroom scenes than were needed to make the story good. However, I just finished book 3 and it should have been R rated. I'm about to start book 4 - but I'm afraid that one will be an X rated! I don't need all the intimate details. 'her perky nipples' 'he now has more than one finger in me'.
Thanks - but that's not what I read for - and I'm disappointed now that I ordered the complete series up front. If I had known than what I know now - I would have quit with book 1.
Good stories - good character development - too many un-needed sexual descriptions - and more with each book!
